More annual reports for collection(s)

As Annual Reports contain important information about Legislation, Codes of Conduct and Industry trends we should have a more extensive collection of them in hard copy on the shelves in the Reference area. AR's such as the Australian Institute of Management would be useful for Business Students (eg at Elgar Library), Master Builders AR (eg at Nelson, Engineering) etc

There should also perhaps be a Research Guide dealing with Annual Reports Web Information and other sources.

What do you guys think???

Best of all - most annual reports are free !!!!

Pre Modern Libraries

With all the new technologies now becoming a daily part of the modern library, I wonder whether the Magic is still there? Sure the internet provides a great deal of information and misinformation (as do books, databases, and refereed publications) BUT is the internet as exciting as first discovering a rare work thought to be lost? By Plato, Virgil, Caesar, Aristotle,
the apostles......Imagine the monks first discovery of new parchment books in ancient libraries. The site below conveys some of the background of ancient libraries.

In a world saturated with technology based information systems, the WOW factor is not
there to the same extent.
